The portrait was part of Lincoln's birthday bicentennial. The 9 foot by 14 foot portrait was created in the Smithsonian, on a platform on the first floor of the Luce Foundation Gallery and took over four (4) hours to complete. Over 10, 000 people attended the event with almost 25,000 viewing via live cam. What an event. After the portrait was finished, the audience was invited to enjoy the cupcakes, up close and personal. Living art. What a concept.
Zilly garnered attention late last year when she created her first homage to President Obama, which was part of Time Magazine' and Flickr's Obama Project.
