Pacific Whey Cafe Discounted Cupcakes

Last week, Pacific Whey Cafe started selling their bakery goods at 50% off!

Their chocolate cupcake were rated as one of the best Orange County cupcakes of 2008.

What a great deal, especially on their cupcakes. Normally $3.25 each. They now sell for only $1.62 after 3 PM.

Of course, the sale price is limited to stock on hand. I bought my cupcake at 6 PM. It was the last cupcake on hand.

How did I enjoy my cupcake? I'll let you know on April 12th. I gave up chocolate for Lent. My cupcake is asleep in the freezer.

By the way, while you feed on a Pacific Whey cupcake, your doggie can feed on a $.50 "4 legged treat!"

Meatloaf Cupcakes by The Meatloaf Bakery

According to Hallmark magazine, there is a Chicago restaurant called The Meatloaf Bakery that showcases its menu to look like a bakery. The food dishes are actually meatloaf dressed up to resemble baked goods like cupcakes!

Actually, this concept is not new. They are called savory cupcakes. However, not many restaurants dedicate their menu to meatloaf!

To get you started, here are some cupcake ideas from The Meatloaf Bakery's menu:

• Ground chicken seasoned with minced celery and spicy wing sauce. Frosting: whipped blue cheese.

• Ground pork loin seasoned with minced chorizo sausage, hot peppers, almonds and garlic. Frosting: roasted garlic-mashed potatoes.

• Ground beef and Italian sausage seasoned with basil and sun-dried tomatoes. Frosting: angel hair pasta.

• Salmon loaf seasoned with lemon, parsley and dill. Frosting: wasabi mashed potatoes.

• Ground turkey seasoned with fresh herbs. Frosting: herbed bread stuffing.

• Ground sirloin seasoned with minced bacon, cheddar, mustard and ketchup. Frosting: 3-cheese mashed potatoes.

This is certainly a fun way to get kids to finish their dinner!

By the way, Hallmark Magazine has ceased publication this month due to the economy.

Vanilla Cupcake Cappuccino at 7-11

Now you can drink a Vanilla Cupcake---a Vanilla Cupcake Cappuccino.

I discovered this coffee dispenser at 7-11 the other day when I stopped in for a Sugar Free Crystal Light Slurpee.

Mmmm. The store clerk permitted me to sample the cupcake cappuccino. It was tasty but lacked the visual satisfaction of eating a real live cupcake.
